In 1972 Rosiland Summerfield took over the small Village Coffee Shop at 416 W. Lodi Ave in Lodi, CA. Rosiland, also known as Cookie in our family, wanted to build her business on good quality home cooking at a fair price. An Example of prices then was a hamburger and fries was 99 Cents and a tall coke was 15 Cents!
Cookie also had special lunches for about $3.99 and you usually took home some in a box! Now due to huge price increases the 99 cent burger is gone, but we continue to sell great quality food at the lowest possible price with the best quality around!
Village Coffee Shop #2 opened in Lodi in 2018. It was found that Juli’s goal of better food, great service and lots of take-home boxes hit the spot. Our customers become part of the Village family and it’s the place to hang out for young and old. Where everybody knows your name!
In early 2021, the Village expanded to a drive-through Coffee Station (circa 1924 service station) in Clearlake, CA in the small town of Lucerne. This was #3 for Village. In September 2021, the opportunity came up to purchase “The Hillbilly” in Murphys, CA, thus the #4 in our small chain.
